What Exactly is Emotional Intelligence?
The term ‘Emotional Intelligence’ might sound like a buzzword, but it’s a concept with deep roots and profound implications. Coined in the 1990s by psychologists John Mayer and Peter Salovey, and later popularized by Daniel Goleman, emotional intelligence is the ability to recognize, understand, and manage our own emotions, as well as to recognize, understand, and influence the emotions of others.
